South Metro & South Central Michigan
Residents of Hillsdale, Jackson, Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne counties are served by my downtown Detroit office. Residents of Detroit can visit my Detroit page. Whether to ask questions regarding a federal agency, discuss issues related to the region’s growth, or express an opinion regarding legislation pending in Congress, individuals and organizations are welcome at my office. The staff in my Detroit office are my personal representatives in the region and are here to serve you.
South Metro Detroit and South Central Michigan is a major industrial center known throughout the world for its commerce and culture. This region plays an important role in the U.S. economy with its automotive industry and the country’s busiest border crossing for commercial items. Key issues facing the area include economic development and stability, Great Lakes preservation, smart growth, and transportation infrastructure. The region is home to several excellent public and private universities and colleges, including the University of Michigan, one of Michigan’s two Big 10 schools.
Due to construction, the public needs to use the entrance on Howard Street. Building security procedures require all visitors to submit to a security screening and present a valid ID or sign in with their name, date and destination.
My office recently sponsored "Federal Resources Face to Face," a workshop for nonprofit organizations. Information presented in this workshop is available on the Grants page.
