Levin Releases Gensler Responses

WASHINGTON -- As part of the confirmation process, Senator Carl Levin, D-Mich., has met with the three top financial nominees of the incoming administration: Timothy Geithner, nominated to be Secretary of the Department of the Treasury; Mary Schapiro, nominated to chair the Securities and Exchange Commission; and Gary Gensler, nominated to chair the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Senator Levin also sent each nominee a series of questions. Today Senator Levin is releasing the responses from Mr. Gensler [PDF]. Previously, Mr. Geithner [PDF] and Ms. Schapiro [PDF] supplied their responses. Senator Levin is chair of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations which specializes in complex financial investigations and is examining issues related to the current financial crisis.
