Levin Statement on GM Announcement Regarding Detroit-Hamtramck Plant

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., issued the following statement today on GM’s announcement that it would add two shifts and 2,500 jobs at the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant.
“Today’s announcement is powerful additional evidence that the investments the American people have made in our domestic auto industry are paying off, and that the hard work and dedication of our industry is being rewarded. This great news will strengthen the growing national perception of what we in Michigan have known all along – that American manufacturers and American workers can compete and will win in the global marketplace. It is fabulous news for Michigan’s economy and the nation’s. Congratulations to the whole GM family.”
